Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, March 5, 2024) – As a result of the continued investigation by members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Special Investigation Bureau, detectives have identified a suspect in connection to this case and obtained warrants for his arrest.
During the morning hours of Tuesday, March 5, 2024, CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) located and arrested Nickaleus Felder, 23, without incident. Mr. Felder was then transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Uptown (601 E. Trade St.) to speak with homicide detectives. At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Felder was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following:
The victim’s next of kin has been notified of the arrest.

Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, March 21, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide in the 4900 block of Malibu Drive in the North Tryon Division
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, shortly after 7 p.m., North Tryon Division officers responded a Breaking and Entering call for service in the 4900 block of Malibu Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with traumatic injuries. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department, and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team also assisted.
