Fatal Vehicle Collision in the North Tryon Division

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, at approximately 11:03 p.m., North Tryon officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a bicycle in the 1900 block of Milton Road. The Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers located a damaged green Lime bicycle and an unresponsive operator. They also located a damaged white 2024 Chevrolet Malibu and its uninjured driver Jartarrius Jatwan Sistare, 39. Medic pronounced the bicyclist deceased on scene.
Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, officers with the DWI Task Force, and Crime Scene Search responded to conduct the investigation.
Mr. Sistare was screened for impairment and determined to not be impaired.
Speed does not appear to be a factor for this collision. Toxicology results are pending for the bicyclist.
