Fatal Crash Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, Nov. 10, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred in the 1200 block of Remount Road in the Westover Division.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at approximately 4:14 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers, Charlotte Fire and MEDIC responded to the 1200 block of Remount Road in reference to a vehicle crash involving a 2014 Kia Rio that ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a male and female occupant inside the vehicle, both unresponsive. The male was removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The female was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC. At this time, it appears that the driver, and possibly another passenger, fled the scene of the collision on foot.
Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, DWI Task Force and Crime Scene Search (CSS) responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
Speed and reckless driving appear to be contributing factors for this collision.
Impairment is unknown for the victim and is pending a toxicology examination. Contributing circumstances for this vehicle collision is currently under investigation.
