Fatal Crash Investigation in the University City Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, May 6, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle crash in the University City Division.
On Wednesday, May 6, at approximately 1:26 a.m., officers, Charlotte Fire and MEDIC responded to the 7400 block of University City Boulevard in reference to a motorcycle collision with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers located a damaged Harley Davidson motorcycle and its rider, Aaron Linwood McIntosh, 32, lying in the roadway unresponsive. Mr. McIntosh was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Impairment is unknown, pending a toxicology report. Speed is a suspected factor for this collision. Mr. McIntosh was the only individual involved in this crash.
The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Division.
