Fatal Crash Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, August 29, 2026) – On Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 6:10 a.m., North Division officers responded to an Accident with Personal Injury call for service in the 4800 block of Hucks Road. When officers arrived on scene, they located a severely damaged, overturned white 2013 Dodge Caravan and its seriously injured driver, Andrea Pohl Parkin, 55, and passenger, Bryson Duran Brown, 36.

MEDIC responded to the scene and pronounced both Parkin and Brown deceased at 6:45 a.m.

Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit, officers with the DWI Task Force, and members of Crime Scene Search responded to conduct an investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Dodge was traveling north on Hucks Road before running off the road to the right, striking a tree, and overturning.

Both speed and impairment are suspected factors in the crash for Parkin.

The victims' next of kin have been notified of their deaths.
