Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, April 5, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian that occurred in the Independence Division.

On Saturday April 4, 2026, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Independence Division officers responded to a vehicle crash with personal injury call for service near the 7600 block of East Independence Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive pedestrian, Christopher John Schea, 54, in the roadway, as well as a damaged Toyota Camry and its driver, Breayonna Da’Shawn West-Moore, 27, and a damaged Toyota Corolla and its driver, Robert Gregory Carroll, 30.
