Death Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, January 10, 2026) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation in the 2000 block of Oakdale Rd in the North Division.
On Saturday, January 10, shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to an assault with an assist fire department call for service in the 2000 block of Oakdale Rd. Upon arrival one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, the Arson Unit and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also assisted.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
