Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, April 15, 2023) – As a result of continued investigation, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified a suspect (Jamal Dulin, DOB: 05/01/1994) in this case. On Friday, April 14, 2023, detectives made contact with the suspect and conducted an interview. At the conclusion of the interview, the suspect was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following:

Murder
Discharge a Weapon into an Occupied Moving Vehicle.

The victim’s family has been notified of the arrest.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, April 18, 2022) – The victim in this case has been identified as Steven Lowe II (DOB 10/28/1982). His family has been notified of his death.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, April 17, 2022) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1400 block of Metals Drive in the North Tryon Division.

Shortly after 9:12 p.m. on April 17, officers responded to an Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Injury call for service in the 1400 block of Metals Drive. Upon arrival officers located a subject who had suffered from a gunshot wound. Medic responded to the scene and pronounced the subject deceased on scene.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team, CMPD’s Operations Command, and Victim Services also assisted.
