CMS Employee Charged Following Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Domestic Violence Unit are conducting an investigation involving Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) employee, Chandraprabha Singh, 44.
On Sunday, Oct. 12, detectives with CMPD's Domestic Violence Unit located and arrested Singh. Singh was transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) to speak with detectives.
After speaking with detectives, Singh was then transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.

This incident occurred off school property and did not involve any student, teacher or facility.
