Convicted Sex Offender Facing New Charges

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, August 4, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit are announcing a new arrest and charges against a convicted sex offender.
Robert “Bobby” Price (DOB 06/15/1967), an associate pastor currently at Camino Church and formerly at Kings Way Baptist Church in Concord, was arrested this morning without incident by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT). Price has been transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is now charged with 13 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and one count of Statutory Sexual Offense from incidents involving juveniles who were between the ages of 9 – 15-years-old at the time. The incidents took place between 2001 – 2011.
Previously, Price was charged with five counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child in Mecklenburg County and several other charges in Cabarrus County in 2013 from incidents involving three juveniles that took place from 2000 – 2006. In August 2014, Price was convicted of two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and was sentenced to 16 months in jail. He served all 16 months and was released in December of 2015.
The CMPD seeks justice for all victims regardless of when the crime occurred.
