Partnerships, Prevention

Preparedness

PARTNERSHIPS:
The department is engaged in partnerships with a host of other City and County agencies; other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies; the business community; and most importantly, with the residents of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
PREVENTION:
Strategies to prevent terrorism are in effect and being carried out not only by CMPD but by other public and private agencies. Residents help in the area of prevention by being involved in their community and by notifying police of suspicious activity.

PREPAREDNESS:
The department and its partners have developed a number of plans to deal with a variety of potential terror-related events. There are evacuation and mass communication plans. The department has a command center that can be quickly staffed and an emergency immobilization plan that can be put into effect.
