Overview

The Laurel Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street flooding in the area. Located within a drainage area of approximately 52 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Laurel Avenue to the north, Dotger Avenue to the south, Randolph Road to the east and Hempstead Place to the west.

Project Updates

January 2024

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and engineering consultant Armstrong Glen continue with the design phase. Staff is coordinating with utility companies to identify potential conflicts and relocation needs. Next, staff will develop detailed drawings for the proposed improvements.
