Kenilworth Romany Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The Kenilworth/Romany Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 233 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity.

The project is bordered by Berkely Avenue to the north, Buchanan Street to the south, Morehead Street to the east and East Boulevard to the west. Streets in the project area include Romany Road, Scott Avenue, Kenilworth Avenue, Waverly Avenue, Buchanan Street, Linganore Place, and Dilworth Road.

Construction updates

• Water line improvements at the intersection of Berkley Avenue and Dilworth Road are complete and restoration of the intersection is underway.
• Storm drainage and water line improvements will continue along Berkley Avenue toward Lexington Avenue.
• Storm drainage and water line improvements at Romany Road and Dilworth Avenue are complete, restoration of the intersection will take place at the completion of the project, anticipated to be mid-2023.

Additional updates

• As infrastructure improvements are completed, restoration of pavement, curb, and sidewalk will continue.
• To ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and crew, please follow all signs.

*includes all costs associated with this project such as planning and design, utility relocation, consultant fees, permits, construction, and landscaping.
