Overview

The Chandworth Storm Drainage Improvement Project will replace aging infrastructure plus reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. The project is located within a drainage area of approximately 200 acres. The project area is bordered by Sulkirk Road to the north, Ashton Drive and Riverbend Road to the south, Tyndale Avenue and Rhodes Avenue to the east and Park Road to the west.

Project Updates

June 2023

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and Zoladz Construction Co., Inc. continue with construction. Work is anticipated to be complete mid-2023.

Project updates

• Guardrail installation on Chandworth Road is complete.
• Installation of the storm drainage box culvert and infrastructure continues along Chandworth Road.
• After the box culvert is installed, the contractor will landscape and seed impacted areas.
• Asphalt milling and paving in the areas affected by construction is anticipated later this summer.

   

Estimated Cost: $11,100,000*

*includes all costs associated with this project such as planning and design, utility relocation, consultant fees, permits, construction, and landscaping.
