CRC Subcommittees

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee (CRC) is composed of a Leadership Team, and eight subcommittees:  Public Relations, Arts $ Environment, Community Equity, Special Events, Race & Cultural Relations, Housing & Economic Crisis, and LGBTQ+


Leadership Team


The Leadership subcommittee is composed of the chair and vice-chair (appointed by the Mayor of the City of Charlotte and the Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners) and the six subcommittee chairs.

Public Relations

Internal operations focused on: planning the annual retreat, member onboarding, orientation, CRC newsletter, featured speakers for CRC meetings, and press releases.


Arts & Environment

Encourage the arts in the community through projects and collaboration with artists and other organizations.


Community Equity Subcommittee.

Work with organizations that focus on youth, senior, and disability topics to help create a more inclusive community for everyone, regardless of age and/or ability.


Special Events Subcommittee

Plan and execute special events related to Community Relations.


Race & Cultural Relations Subcommittee

Educate about and celebrate racial and cultural differences; Look at local laws that encourage hate and discrimination; Work with CRCPR to release statements when needed; Create opportunities to unite groups and races.


LGBTGQ+ Subcommittee

Collaborate with other organizations to support and educate about the rights and anti-discrimination efforts of the LGBTQIA+ community.


Housing & Economic Crisis Subcommittee

Education opportunities for the community.
