Charlotte's crowning jewel is its urban tree canopy. It is known to have many tree species, from impressive oaks to showy cherry trees. To help protect and preserve Charlotte's vibrant and diverse tree canopy, we are conducting a tree inventory workshop in the Sedgefield neighborhood on Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Come help out! We need a group of cheerful, ready and willing volunteers to be part of a tree inventory program to maintain the vibrant forest we all know and love!
As a group of volunteers, you will walk through the Sedgefield neighborhood and E.B. Moore Park in Charlotte and add trees to the Tree by Tree map. Visit Tree by Tree and watch the videos to learn more. You don't have to be an expert; the City of Charlotte Landscape Management staff will be there to help on inventory day!
If you are passionate about our city's tree conservation, NOW is your chance to ensure our trees stay beautiful and thriving for future generations. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen and a hat. Water and snacks will be provided.
Space is limited.
Register by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10
