UPDATE: CATS Phone System Restored – Normal Service Resumed
Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is pleased to announce that our telephone service has been restored and is now operational at this time. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of our riders during the recent service disruption caused by a vendor network outage.
Effective immediately, riders can reach Customer Service and Paratransit by calling 704.336.7433. Our dedicated team is available to assist with all questions, schedule rides and provide information about our services and routes.
We want to thank our riders for their cooperation and understanding during the service disruption. Our team worked tirelessly with our vendors and City I&T to resolve the issue promptly, ensuring minimal impact on our valued customers.
Please note that regular service hours for our Call Center are as follows:
Monday through Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

ALERT: CATS Phone Service Disruption
Charlotte, N.C. – Due to a vendor network outage, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) phone lines are currently down. In the interim, riders can contact CATS via email at telltransit@charlottenc.gov. Paratransit riders needing to book appointments can do so via telltransit@charlottenc.gov. This email will be closely monitored until 7 p.m. today and between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Additionally, CATS staff will be actively monitoring social media accounts to provide assistance and answer questions.
City I&T is working with the vendor to resolve this issue. Residents should not call 911 unless they are experiencing an emergency and need police, fire or medic.
